Everything you need to know about this topic.
A 7-year-old generally needs between 9 and 12 hours of sleep each night, so bedtime depends on the required wake-up time. If the child must wake at 7:00 a.m., they should usually be asleep between 7:00 and 10:00 p.m. Many 7-year-olds function well with around 10 to 11 hours, which would place sleep time between 8:00 and 9:00 p.m. Begin the bedtime routine about 30 minutes earlier. The right bedtime should allow the child to wake without extreme difficulty and remain alert throughout the school day. If mornings are consistently stressful or the child becomes irritable and sleepy, move bedtime earlier by 15 minutes and monitor the effect for several days.
