Everything you need to know about this topic.
A kids sleep calculator can provide a useful starting point, but it cannot determine an exact bedtime for every child. Most calculators use recommended sleep ranges based on age and work backward from a chosen wake-up time. They may not account fully for naps, the time needed to fall asleep, medical conditions, individual sleep needs or differences between school and weekend schedules. Use the suggested bedtime as a trial rather than a strict rule. Observe whether your child wakes comfortably, stays alert and behaves well during the day. Adjust bedtime by 15-minute intervals if needed. A calculator cannot diagnose insomnia, sleep apnea or other disorders. Ongoing sleep problems, loud snoring, breathing pauses or extreme daytime tiredness require professional medical advice.
